The great importance of Lamar Jackson’s MVP

Last Saturday, the National Football League (NFL) held their annual awards ceremony for the 2019-2020 season, acting as a lead-in to the Super Bowl. The League uses this event to celebrate all types of players and coaches, including honors like Coach of the Year and the Walter Payton Man of the Year award, which is given to the player that exhibits excellence both on the field and in the community.

Our generation will never forget NBA star Kobe Bryant

I thought it was a hoax. Or, more so, I hoped that it was a hoax. But as news reports and tweets streamed into my notification center with every passing minute, it became painfully clear that the impossible, horrifying, nightmare accident had actually occurred.

The NBA needs to look to the NFL to solve its schedule

Roughly a quarter-way through the National Basketball Association (NBA) season, three headlines have been circulating around the basketball world. First, and the most divisive, is the discussion around load management. Through 21 games, Kawhi Leonard has missed six, for purely injury-prevention purposes. That is roughly on pace to match his last season, where he missed 22 games in the 82-game regular season. Stars are seemingly sitting more games than they ever have (whether they actually are is debatable), and that has generated a lot of controversy.
