We live a mile away from one of the most festive blocks in America. Come December, the residents of 34th Street in Hampden step into their roles as holiday extraordinaires and plug in their twinkle lights. But we aren’t talking about some regular string of bulbs across the gutter: 34th Street turns into a holiday wonderland, with more lights than you’d see in a neighborhood, let alone a single block.

Hopkins, did you know that there is a pub right down St. Paul Street? I will not judge you if you didn’t know, because before the summer of junior year, I thought that pub was far away from Hopkins.
As the weather cools off and the sun sets earlier, it can be hard to fight feelings of winter gloom. But hop on the southbound JHMI and in 10 minutes you can escape to a completely different world, beyond freezing wind and looming exams.
