High school should be preparing students for the next exciting and challenging phase of their lives, which is attending university. At the very least, students should be taught important information before they are thrust into a new and hectic environment, where they don’t often have time to learn basic life skills other than via trial and error.

With Halloween just a few weeks away, if you’re like me, you’re likely on the lookout for a festive, spooky film to snuggle up and watch over a bowl of candy corn. Luckily, this October has been filled with new horror films, from Halloween Ends, the last in the Halloween trilogy, to Prey for the Devil coming out on Oct. 28. However, as someone who enjoys a milder scare, I was beyond ecstatic when I heard Disney+ was releasing a sequel to the 1993 cult classic Hocus Pocus on Sept. 30.

Fall was in the air last week on Homewood Campus as students participated in the annual Hoptoberfest tradition, organized by The HOP. The student-run event, which began Wednesday, Oct. 5, and culminated in a concert by rapper Desiigner on Saturday night, Oct. 8, featured seasonal activities like a pumpkin patch and an off-campus haunted house trip.

There has never been a closer focus on preventing injuries in the National Football League (NFL). From preventative penalties to independent certified athletic trainers (ATC spotters), the league has made it their priority and practically their mission statement to catch injuries as fast as possible, stop the game and get the player off the field. This was not the case this past week.

It is rare to find an artist whose 10th album sounds as singular and innovative as their first. It may be rarer, though, to find an artist who can create a fungal concept album to excitement and acclaim. Such is the case with Björk’s new record Fossora, a dense yet effulgent exploration of motherhood, connection and legacy.

I can’t think of too many things in life that are better than Mediterranean food. We’re often spoiled by the consistent presence of the B’more Greek food truck on 34th Street and North Charles Street, but there are a multitude of other incredible Mediterranean restaurants around the city.

According to its constitution, the Student Government Association (SGA) was founded upon “the importance of strengthening student unity, representing student interests and providing a forum for the exchange of ideas.” Unfortunately, we’re not sure these lofty ideals are being met.

Lacrosse is the most celebrated sport at Hopkins, representing the University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division-I college lacrosse. The men’s team has won 44 national championships, including nine NCAA Division-I titles, 29 U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association titles and six Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association titles, making them the first all-time in titles by any college lacrosse team and second to Syracuse in NCAA-era national titles.

The rest are a mix of teams stuck in basketball purgatory, tanking for a top draft pick and young rebuilding squads. Here is my evaluation of all title contenders, dark horses and pretenders.

The University broadcasted its second virtual town hall on Sept. 29 at the School of Medicine’s campus in East Baltimore and its third fully virtual town hall on Sept. 30. The town halls were intended to garner community feedback on the draft of the Johns Hopkins Police Department (JHPD) Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, odds are you’ve heard at least something about Olivia Wilde’s latest film Don’t Worry Darling, starring Florence Pugh and Harry Styles. Most likely, you’ve read headlines about casting feuds, on-set affairs or spitting accusations and concluded, unlike Styles in his viral interview, that this movie feels anything but like an actual movie.
