This weekend, experience life as an astronaut at an interactive space exploration event at the Maryland Science Center.

As winter starts to fade, the city is buzzing with things to do. From festive celebrations to can’t-miss performances, there’s no shortage of entertainment. Here’s a roundup of the best events happening this week.

Friday

Hans Zimmer Live, CFG Bank Arena, 8 p.m.

Step into the world of legendary composer Hans Zimmer as he brings his iconic film scores to life on stage. From The Lion King to Inception, his music has shaped some of cinema’s most unforgettable moments. This live performance, packed with orchestral magic and cinematic grandeur, is a must-see for movie and music lovers alike. Tickets start at $74. 

The REALLY COOL Open Mic, Peabody Heights Brewery, 8–10 p.m.

Experience a night of laughter at The REALLY COOL Open Mic, Baltimore's premier comedy event highlighting women and LGBTQIA comedians. Hosted by They/Them Ty, with special guest Amelia Nur, this free show starts at 8 p.m. at Peabody Heights Brewery. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Donations are welcome.

Saturday

Wei Zhu and Hui-Chuan Chen Classical Concert, Baltimore Museum of Art, 3 p.m.

Immerse yourself in an afternoon of exquisite classical music with violinist Wei Zhu and pianist Hui-Chuan Chen at the Baltimore Museum of Art on Saturday. Astro Adventure, Maryland Science Center, 12–4 p.m.

Step into the shoes of an astronaut at this hands-on space exploration event. Perfect for aspiring astronauts and curious minds of all ages, this immersive experience offers a thrilling glimpse into the wonders of space. Tickets range from free (for members) to $29.95.

Sunday

Galentine’s Day Flamingle, The Maryland Zoo, 12–4 p.m.

Celebrate Galentine’s Day with a pop-star twist at the Maryland Zoo! This lively brunch event features an open bar, a gourmet buffet, and dazzling drag performances, all set against the backdrop of the zoo’s iconic flamingos. Dress up as your favorite pop icon and enjoy exclusive animal encounters for a truly unforgettable day. Tickets range from $110 to $160. Just a heads-up, this event is 21+ only!
