Welcome back to school and happy Labor Day!

As we stand at this crossroads of seasons and schedules, it's the perfect time to squeeze in those last bits of summer fun while preparing for the excitement of fall. Whether you're looking for festive fairs, outdoor adventures, cultural experiences or culinary delights, we've curated a list of event suggestions to help you make the most of the long weekend.

Friday

Maryland State Fair, August 30 - Sept. 2
Kick off your weekend with a visit to the Maryland State Fair, a beloved tradition that spans three weekends from August 22 to September 8. This event is a perfect blend of food, fun and family entertainment. Enjoy thrilling horse races, live music and an impressive selection of fair foods, including new culinary creations showcased in The MALLET Food Competition. Treat yourself to indulgent options like Nutella-stuffed pretzel rolls and turkey and stuffing waffles!

Saturday

The Skate Day, Baltimore Museum of Industry, August 31, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Embrace the vibrant skate culture of Baltimore at this skating-themed farmers' market. Bring your favorite wheels and glide along the waterfront while connecting with local skate groups. Learn about skating opportunities in Baltimore and enjoy the scenic surroundings of the Baltimore Museum of Industry.

Sunday

The Night Brunch, Sept. 1, 5–10 p.m.
The Night Brunch is coming to the B&O Museum this Labor Day weekend. On Sunday night, you can sample everything from tacos to oysters. DJs Lil Mic and NoID will be performing, so come ready to dance! Just remember, it's 21 and up. Bring a chair, bring your appetite, and get ready for a night out to cap off the summer.

Monday

Labor Day Music Festival, Chrysalis Amphitheater, Sept. 2
Close out your long weekend with a musical celebration at the Chrysalis Amphitheater presented by the Inner Arbor Trust. Enjoy performances by the Patuxent Jazz Band, Maryland Community Band and the High and Wides. With food trucks, concessions and the beautiful outdoor setting of Merriweather Park, this festival is the perfect way to unwind and embrace the start of the new season.
