Events this weekend (Nov. 17–19)

As the city get into a celebratory mood for the holidays, many events pop up all around the block.

If you are staying in Baltimore for the start of the break, you’ll be thankful to hear about these great events!

Friday

Baltimore Rock Opera Society Gala, 7–11 p.m. 

Dress up in your sharpest fall wear and join the “Swanksgiving” gala hosted by the Baltimore Rock Opera Society. Enjoy hip hop music, a silent auction and many other fun events.

CHESS, The Musical, 8 p.m.

Catch the tail-end of the CHESS musical put on by the Vagabond Players in their 108th season. The production features a fantastic rock score and a thrilling story. The show runs until Nov. 19. 

Saturday 

Tree Lighting Ceremony, 4:15–5 p.m.

The Christmas Village in Inner Harbor is back, and it is kicking off with its annual tree lighting ceremony featuring a chorus performance and speeches! Make sure you check out the other features of the Christmas Village, too.

Holiday Makers’ Market, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. 

The Holiday Makers’ Market is this Saturday right up Charles Street at the Evergreen Museum & Library. Support the local artists and craft makers, and shop for some decorations to spice up your room with the holiday spirit! 

Sunday

“And Still, We Dream” Dance Performance, 2:30–4:30 p.m.

The Full Circle Dance Company is putting on an amazing show inspired by the dream references in the works of the former Maryland Poet Laureate Lucille Clifton. The choreography explores the experiences relating to dreams and fantasies. Tickets are $20 for students.
