SGA members discussed the lack of study spaces in the absence of both the Hopkins Student Center and MSE.

The Student Government Association (SGA) held its weekly general body meeting on Oct. 24. During the meeting, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Ellen Chow and Vice Provost for Admissions & Financial Aid David Phillips presented updates about changes in the University’s admissions process due to the recent Supreme Court case that eliminated affirmative action in college admissions.

Vice President Jackson Morris informed SGA members that from his recent meeting with The Center for Diversity & Inclusion, he learned that the opening of the Hopkins Student Center will be delayed to summer 2025. SGA is working with the administration to find large indoor study spaces, considering both the Student Center and the Milton S. Eisenhower Library will be under construction. Morris also mentioned the possibility of asking for a tuition reduction as significant parts of the campus are missing.
