Our Leisure Editor encourages you to sing your heart out at karaoke, see a fun concert or check out some standup comedy this weekend.

The sun is shining, your classes are wrapping up and the city is coming alive with more activities to enjoy! Check out these events before you say goodbye to Baltimore for the semester.

All Weekend

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back — In Concert, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (8 – 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday)

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) is bringing movie magic to life with its rendition of John Williams’ Star Wars score! The BSO consistently delivers high-quality performances, and it’s always especially fun to listen to familiar songs in a cinematic and exciting way. The Friday performance is at the Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, and the Saturday and Sunday performances are at the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore, which is relatively accessible by the JHMI. You can buy tickets on the BSO website.

Friday

Karaoke Night @ Max's Taphouse, 9:30 p.m. 1 a.m.

Who doesn’t love some karaoke? For anyone looking to sing the night away, Max’s Taphouse in Fells Point hosts karaoke weekly on Friday nights in its second-floor lounge. Bring some friends and rent out a room starting as early as 8 p.m. More information can be found on the Facebook event.

Saturday

NYC Comedy Invades Baltimore, 7 10 p.m.

Check out NYC standup comedians Bret Raybould, Nick Whitmer and Joe Alfano at Joe Squared, a local pizza spot in Station North with a lively upstairs event space. Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the door. You can watch a preview of the comedians and find more information about the event on Facebook.

Sunday

Hands-on HIIT — Earth Day Weekend, 11 a.m.

Celebrate Earth Day by getting outdoors and helping the community at Canton Waterfront Park! This annual event is devoted to cleaning up litter around Baltimore City through a massive community effort. The event will also feature group yoga and a happy hour after cleanup. More information about the event can be found on Eventbrite.

ARTASTE 2022, 5 9 p.m.

ARTASTE is a night of art, fashion and cuisine hosted at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. The annual event will feature live art exhibitions, samplings from local chefs and fashion displays. The event is complete with live DJs, who will elevate it to an eccentric party atmosphere. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased on Eventbrite, and you can find more information on the event website.
